Remarkable Part: The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice

I thought I would never finish this book. But after more than a year, (yes you read it right, more than a year) I finally read its last word.

The Vampire Lestat

I was interested reading this book because of 'Interview with the Vampire', I was super captivated by that book, But upon reading 'The Vampire Lestat' and as I go on to the chapters, I found myself uninterested with the story. That's why I went on and off reading this and so it  took me more than a year to finish this.

As I was reading this book, I thought I would never find a remarkable part, but nearing the last chapters, I found some. And as a whole, the story wasn't bad at all. So, here's the remarkable part and words from the book:

"The truth is most women are weak, be they mortal or immortal. But when they are strong, they are absolutely unpredictable."

------------------------------------------------------------

"Whatever will happen will happen, but choose your companions with care. Choose them because you like to look at them and you like the sound of their voices , and they have profound secrets with them that you wish to know. In other words, choose them because you love them. Otherwise you will not be able to bear their company for very long."

The Vampire Lestat quotes

------------------------------------------------------------

"But are humans really dangerous? I've found them so easy to deceive.

"Of course they're dangerous. Humans could wipe us out if they ever really understood about us. They could hunt us by day. Don't ever underestimate that single advantage. Again, the rules of the old covens have their wisdom. Never, never tell mortals about us. Never tell a mortal where you lie or where any vampire lies. It is absolute folly to think you can control mortals."

Condoms for High School Students: A big no!

Hindi naman kasi talaga tamang magpamudmod ng condom sa mga HS student to prevent HIV o Teenage pregnancy. What should be prevented is premarital sex.

Giving condoms at their early age is like saying "it's okay to do it as long as you're protected." Gosh, what happen to purity? Would any parent allow their children to be exposed to such things at an early age?

Why can't they have a campaign against premarital sex instead. Fight for what is right! Don't react to the situation rather respond to it. Don't give us a solution that won't solve anything but would only worsen it. Let us teach our children the way God would want us to teach them. Let us not put aside God's way in our society. And don't give me the idea that we are now living in a modern world and what is not accepted before is accepted today. Well, let me remind you that what is right and wrong hasn't changed. What is wrong is wrong and what is right is right. And what is accepted isn't always right. What we must pursue is righteousness, not what is accepted.

I can't imagine what kind of society my future children will be having. Habang tumatagal, bumabaliktad na talaga ang takbo ng mundo.
