Girls Like You Short Cover

Girls Like You by Maroon 5

At the end of the video, I realized that I should just sing this song on Star Maker (karaoke app) instead 😅

Battling Anxiety and Depression: You are not Alone

I never knew what depression and anxieties are until it hit me and experienced it myself. Thank God, He helped me go through it.

The first thing you should do when you are in this situation is to accept the fact that you're in that state of mind: anxious and depress. Otherwise, you wouldnt't be able to get out of it.

Second, don't pretend that you are tough and not needing the help of others. Don't build walls around you. Don't indulge yourself in the thought that no one will understand what you are going through. It is a lie that the enemy is instilling in your mind for you to lose this battle. Seek help from God and He will give you the right persons to also help you go through it. Be open to your family. Never ever doubt them. Ask for prayers. Listen to what God is saying to you. In this world, you will only recognize the voice and leading of God if you have a relationship with Him. Have a relationship with Jesus and the rest will follow. It won't be easy but you will be victorious with your relationship with Him. Be vulnerable to Him and trust Him.

Third, do the things that awaken the motivation in you. In my case, reconnecting with the nature plays a big part of it (although I am doing it quite some time before). It helped me remember how awesome and sovereign God is. It makes me remember how faithful God is in my life. It refreshes my whole being. Also, it makes me write and if you are following my blogs, you know for sure that writing is my passion. Reconnecting with the nature makes me create and produce a passion; a passion which was placed by God in my heart from the very beginning.

Fourth, use your situation to inspire and help others who go through the same situation. Like what I am doing now -- sharing this story. You went through it for a reason. And that reason will be revealed by God. But be careful, remember that what you went through wasn't about you. You should proclaim the goodness and works of God. Don't put yourself ahead of Him. Don't be decieved.

Fifth, say 'thank you' to all the persons God sent during your battle. Appreciate them. Family or friends. They are the truest of all the persons you have in your life.

Sixth, forgive those who have hurt you or caused you to suffer depression and anxiety. It doesn't matter if they ask for it or not. They may not know what they have caused you. Still, forgive. Release your forgiveness. And again, it is only possible when you have a relationship with Jesus. Because having a relationship with Jesus is also knowing Him intimately day by day, and you will know how big His heart is when it comes to forgiveness.

Seventh, and probably last, remember this passage from the Bible where Jesus said: Take heed and be of good courage, I have overcome the world. I forgot the verse but you can search it on google to double check. :D

Now to end this blog, here's some photos to lighten up your mood. These are proofs how sovereign God is. The world is His canvass, witness and feel.

Sign of the Times

Tried to record on my phone this guitar session and I was happy the audio turned out so well. This budget friendly phone is highly recommendable for photo and video enthusiast out there.

Also, I'm happy that I can play the chords of this song, which made me like it the very first time I heard it.

Sit Still, Look Pretty

Sit still, look pretty by Daya

I never pay attention to the lyrics of this song until I heard it again on Pitch Perfect 3. And that's when I realized that this song has a pretty message, and as if I was the one who wrote the lyrics. 😂 So, I tried to learn its chords and play. I guess, I didn't ruin the song that much though. 😁✌

Testing my New Guitar

Thanks to my brother who bought me a new guitar. Now, here I am testing the quality of its sound, and my skill, if it still works fine. 😂 I know, in the middle of the night. 😝

What's Up Cover

I'll be forgetting about karaoke for a while and will be having more time with this new guitar instead. So, I'm sorry, if you are following this blog, expect more of this craziness on future posts. Thank you and good night! 😁

Remarkable Part: The Return of the Young Prince by Alejandro Guillermo Roemmers

I know you have clicked the link because you want to know this book's remarkable part. And I might just break your heart's expectation and admit that the title of this article is some kind of a click bait. Because there's no remarkable part. Well at least for me.

The Return of the Young Prince has a lot of life lessons, wisdom, and realization written on it but I'm pretty sure that we've heard or read it all before. It seems that the book is only repeating what we already know. The book's main message can also be found in any other book, the very reason it lost its remarkable part.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the book is a failure, it is still something I would recommend to a friend. It has things and values in life that we should be reminded of, only it's not very authentic.

Another thing, if you are a fan of the first book, The Little Prince, I suggest that you skip this sequel. A lot of emotions and presumptions brought to us by the story of The Little Prince will be scattered away by this sequel. I prefer to end the story of the boy bitten by a snake than the one written in this sequel.

Anyway, this is just my opinion and mine alone. You could still see it on your own if our opinion matches regarding The Return of the Young Prince. Thus, let me end this article with one of the lines from this book, "It's strange how easily we assume that others must be going in the same direction as us." Alejandro Guillermo Roemmers should have thought of this too before deciding to write this sequel.

P.S
If there's one thing I like better in this sequel than the first, is that it acknowledges the existence of God. The writer mentioned many times the sovereignty of God and that is something great.

Be counted. Practice your rights.

Days before the Barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan election I have decided not to participate. Simply because I didn't know who to vote. I don't know the background and the personalities of those running candidates. Consider this my fault for not knowing them so well but I believed it's not my obligation to do so. And before you feel bad for my reasoning, I must say that I indeed, voted.

Hours before the election, I suddenly felt the urge to practice my right as a citizen of the Philippines. I mean, this thing I'm letting me pass by is actually an opportunity to practice my freedom and it's a privileged one should not ignore. So there was I, asking my parents who were the candidates because they know some of them. That's when I realized that not knowing the candidates was not a valid reason for me not to vote. There are ways how to know them: ask somebody who does.

Aside from that, you are giving yourself the right to voice out whatever observations you may notice with the elected Barangay Officials because you have participated. You have the right to rant just in case they do something stupid. Yes, I'm a bit of an activist (but not rebellious), please bear with me. :D

This post is freaking late to encourage people to participate and vote but I am still posting this for the next election. Please use your rights and freedom. Be counted. Practice your rights.

Remarkable Scene: Cardboard Boxer

LAHAT

If you do not understand the word above, please use Google Translate: Filipino to English. Salamat! :D

But let me put the scene where I cried myself out loud, or in our word "ngal-ngal"... but still, I managed to "ngal-ngal"  quietly. :P

Also, the film itself (including the story, script, cinematography, actors, background music, and everything that completes the film) is remarkable or probably beyond. Watch it to further understand what I'm talking about.

P.S. I was actually looking for a film to watch then delete right after the end. But this one is staying. :D

Remarkable Scene: The Book of Henry

Right after I've seen the trailer of this film, I promised myself that I will watch it in the cinema. But then, there was no screening schedule available in the malls near our place. So then, I have no choice but to wait for an HD download.

And finally, I've seen the film, which turned out to be the first movie I've watched this 2018.

And below is the remarkable scene:

Henry: Why didn't you help the lady at the grocery store?
Mom: Like what I've said, it's none of our business.
Henry: "I think when someone hurt someone else, it is our business."
Mom: "I know it seems that way but there is nothing I could do."
Henry: "If everybody did that then there would be no one to look out for the people who just can't look out for themselves."
Mom: "So what should have I done? I don't want things to get violent."
Henry: "Violence isn't the worst thing in the world."
Mom: "What is that?"
Henry: "APATHY."

There you go, Ladies and Gents! And that is something to think about. :)
